I recently got hooked on Otome games and visual novels. So much so that I acquired a decent backlog in a short amount of time, some are English-only but a lot have a Japanese option. I went a little overboard. The Nintendo Switch is a really great console for practicing Japanese. Games are region-free! I received these 2 JP titles the other day, Lover Pretend and Yunohana SpRING!, and have KLAP! on preorder. They don't have a localization yet so it's nice to have some incentive and motivation. I can't resort to switching back to English if I'm frustrated. ;3

I'm still working through Genki II slowly but when I play I can at least pick up some vocabulary if I can't get the grammar. So I'm starting out reading with a cute game called NekoPara: Catboys Paradise. It's free to pick up on Steam!

So the process I've discovered is explained _here_. I downloaded a program called Textractor and hooked it to the game. It generates the text onto a selectable and copyable page. Coupled with the Yomichan extension I can literally SHIFT+hover over kanji and get a dictionary entry and create Anki cards easily. I've decided to try again with Anki but if it doesn't work (again, for the 5th time) you can't say I didn't try. ;A; I'll at least have a list of words I've seen.

I was amazed at this program & setup and so was my partner. But I can't use it with the Switch obviously, so I'll save those for a little later.
